I'm just asking God for the determination to make the right choices and stay strong by not giving into temptation! It's supposed to get easier but seems like it's getting harder :(

SB Diet-Day 3

I haven't given up yet, I was just actually working yesterday afternoon instead of blogging. Anyways, here is my menu from yesterday and a picture of my pitiful dinner plate (so you can see portion size-which is why you have to eat 6 meals a day). I tend to make a big deal out of things. This diet really isn't that bad but when I make it seem more dramatic I feel like I am accomplishing something more and that pushes me. Weird I know! It's still a big adjustment to be so restricted though!

Breakfast
1 egg (it's a good thing I LOVE eggs)
2 slices of turkey bacon (gag)

Snack
2 slices of turkey
7 cheese cubes
1 small cucumber

Lunch
leftover pork tenderloin from dinner
leftover steamed broccoli

Snack
small portion of Ash's salad (I mentioned it in day 1)

Dinner
grilled chicken (just plain ol' chicken?? as quoted by Josh)
steamed green beans (with out Bearnaise sauce, so sad!)

Snack (I guess you could call it dessert???)
1tbls of peanut butter
1 cup of milk

I went to Curves and weighed in for the 1st time since December. I gained one pound but no inches since then. That was pretty encouraging considering I didn't really watch what I ate throughout the holidays. I will update Monday with a weight loss total, well hopefully there will be one, I don't want to jinx myself!!

SB Diet -Day 2

I didn't care so much for my salmon last night, I mean I ate it but only because it didn't taste like much. If anyone has a good salmon recipe please let me know!

Here is my menu for today...

Breakfast
1 egg
2 slices turkey bacon

Snack
2 slices of turkey
7 cheese cubes
1 small cucumber

Lunch
roasted chicken-small portion (not even a whole breast)
3/4 cup of steamed broccoli

Snack
3 mini pickles
sugar free jell-o snack

Again, haven't had dinner yet but I am having
pork tenderloin
steamed zucchini

Did I mention Josh's excitement over this diet thing! He is being very supportive but I feel bad for him, he is eating Easy Mac every night for a little extra. Thanks for hanging in there with me babe!

Oh and by the way I had to get up at 4:45am this morning to be at the Westin at 6:00 for a conference that we staff for. We had to make sure all of our staff showed up on time, dressed appropriately that sort of thing. No sleep and no food, great day!

SB Diet-Day 1

Well I am sort of writing this to keep for myself but feel free to take a peek into my meager daily meals. Don't worry, I will prob only do this for a couple of weeks, before I get tired of it....not the diet but the daily entries. Anyways, this is what my day has consisted of so far (food wise)

Going to curves tonight to burn all 500 calories! I ate more calories than that but I can be sarcastic about it :)

One of my favorite possessions!

One of my best friends Hayley started this for me. Her stepmom, Marty, had one of her own (3x this size) and I just LOVED it. I thought it was so pretty! She had it on a planters stand in her room. It's all the roses she has received throughout the years. I believe she started it when she got married to Hayley's dad. Anyways, Hayley knew how much I loved it so she started a small one for me our sophomore year of college. It has grown significantly, thank you Josh, and I absolutely love it! It's a perfect decoration that I think is timeless, unless you have an ultra modern home, not to mention the sentimental value. All of the roses were given to me!!! Just thought I would share, I had it down putting all the roses from our anniversary in and thought I would take a pic. It really is one of my most favorite possessions. So if you want to send me roses I won't complain when they die, I now actually look forward to when they die so I can grow my beautiful rose basket. He he, just kidding on you sending me roses!
*Notice the one blue rose? Well when I was in high school blue was my favorite color. I don't know why but I always said I would marry the guy the gave me a blue rose. Josh found one in college and gave it to me, so you know what that means....

Our Weekend!

This picture pretty much sums up our weekend!

Josh and I didn't do much this weekend. We stayed in and ordered pizza on Friday and watched a movie. Josh actually got called into work for a little while on Saturday then we went out to watch the GREAT Tennessee basketball game, GO VOLS! A perfect relaxing weekend that is very much appreciated since we have visitors the next 2 weekends and then we are off to California for a long weekend!

Hope everyone has a great week!

South Beach Diet

I'm over making excuses and being so lazy. On Monday I am starting South Beach Diet. I have done this before but didn't follow the rules all that well. I know it works, I've seen people lose lots of weight on this. I am also going to get motivated to go back to Curves. Well maybe not motivated but I'm going to make myself go anyways! Well if anyone has done South Beach and has any tips or recipes they would like to share I would greatly appreciate it. I can't eat any carbs or sugars for the next 2 weeks (at least). I guess it's a good thing I already ate my girl scout cookies. If you want to know where to find me this weekend try any place that has pasta, french fries, molten chocolate cakes, and cokes! Have a great weekend!
Hmm, I wonder if Josh will take me to Real Chow Baby?? Ha ha...JUST KIDDING!

Recent Dozer Pics!

Bella says Hello!

Yay!

Josh is flying home as we speak! I am picking him up in one hour and I'm so excited! I have missed him so much! He had fun in Orlando, had to work quite a bit, but got to do some fun stuff. One night they rented the entire City Walk portion of Universal and they got to pick the resturant of their choice to eat at. He also went to SeaWorld last night for the last session and I am very jealous. Next years seminar is in Long Beach, CA. Just to put it into prespective there were about 4 thousand people there this year...that is a lot. All of corporate goes as well as all the operators of the store, you can bring your spouse but no children. CFA pays for it all!!! Amazing!

Mother/Daughter Weekend (and 2 weekdays)

Josh left early Saturday morning heading to Orlando for CFA's seminar so mom came down to stay with me and keep me company. Friday we just stayed in, ate fajitas and helped Josh get packed up. Saturday we did the traditional shopping which is always so much fun and we got great deals with the Presidents Day sales! That night I took mom to.....Real Chow Baby! Yes, I have been there 4 times in less than 2 months but who's counting, plus it's so yummy! Mom loved it and thankfully it was worth the hour and 20 minute wait. Sunday we went to see 27 dresses and LOVED it! We ordered pizza and watched more romantic comedies at home! Monday I did go to work but she came here around lunch and we went to America's Mart. In case you haven't heard of it, it's where buyers go and get stuff at wholesale prices. Oh WOW! It was so overwhelming, every accessory you can possibly imagine. You have to have a pass to get in but once you do you will never want to leave, it was amazing and we only saw a little piece of it. It would take days to REALLY shop there. Anyways that was great and after work mom made me chicken -n- dumplins and chicken salad for my lunches the rest of the week. Did I mention it is nice having your mom around. She also did my laundry and some cleaning! Very nice! Tuesday I did take the day off and we got facials in the morning and she left that afternoon. WE had so much fun and it was a perfect girls weekend! Thanks for everything Mom and I really enjoyed our time together!

Valentine's

Josh and I didn't want to spend lots of money for Valentines nor did we want to deal with the crowds at the resturants, not to mention you have to make a reservation with a credit card...that's just silly. So we went to a Thrashers hockey game, made cupcakes for my office, cooked dinner and made Valentine's for other people. We had fun and that's the whole point!

At the game
Go Thrashers!
Josh was in charge of the sprinkles-he looks so happy doesn't he!
Dozer with his colorful valentines gift from Daddy
Dozer's valentine to Granny (my mom)-he's so sweet isn't he!

New Addition

My best friend Erin has a new addition to her family!!

This is Dylan and she is a 41/2 month old boxer...so cute!

This is Hurley (Erin's other Boxer that is 1) and Dylan playing and getting used to each other.

Congrats Erin and Casey! I know you are so excited. Much braver than I am to have 2 big dogs to take care of but I am happy for you and can't wait to meet Dylan!

Spice Up Sandwich Nite...

...minus the paperplate. I don't know about you all but Josh and I have sandwiches at least once a week. They are good and easy so why not? Well this week I thought I might try to spice them up a little instead of just white bread and oscar meyer meat. I got the original idea from Southern Living but altered it a little so you could pretty much use whatever you like.

I bought a round sourdough loaf (managers special for $1), deli turkey and ham, and provalone cheese. The recipe called for balsamic vinaigrette but I had Italian so I just used that.

You cut the top off the bread and scrape out the middle (you can save the inside for something else) as thick or thin as you want and cut into 4 wedges. Drizzle a little dressing on the bread, top and bottom. Layer your meats and cheeses (I drizzled a little more dressing in between some layers) and place the top back on. Bake it on 450 for about 10 minutes to heat it up and melt the cheese. Then I put lettuce, tomato, grey poupon and bacon on each one.

It was really tasty and again just a little variation from the typical sandwich, you've got to keep things interesting right?

Josh thinks I am a loser for blogging about sandwiches but at least I am blogging so you have something to look at and I have a reason to not do work this morning!
