Well Josh had to get 6 stitches yesterday. He went for a team outing with his Chick-fil-a group to the lake and played a little too hard. He was on the jet ski when he hit a large wave and when he came back down he busted his chin open. His boss had to take him to the ER! He is a little sore but lucky he didn't lose some teeth. I told him that unfortunatly he is not 10 anymore and he needs to be a little more careful when he plays. Here is a picture of the stitches and his sad face when I told him he was not young anymore...love it!!

Random
For those of you that don't know I work right Downtown in Atlanta, Peachtree Center-The Heart of Atlanta. Anyways, I was walking to the post office today and there was a guy on horseback just hanging out right Downtown. I thought this was so funny and random. I bet the poor horse didn't know what to think with all the people and cars. Anyways here is a picture!
Brimer/Samantha Visit
Uncle Josh and Bella
This weekend was another one full of fun-filled events. Josh's parents, two sisters, one sisters boyfriend and Bella all came to visit. I even got a last minute visit from my best college friend Samantha!! Friday night Samantha came in with her mom to look at furniture for her new townhouse so we just hung out for awhile. The same night all the Brimer's got in but not until late. Saturday I was up early meeting Samantha and her mom for the shopping trip and we spent 2 hours at Ikea. After I left there I went golfing with the boys, which was hot but lots of fun. It has been way too long since I have played but I must say I was pretty impressed with how well I did. After that we were pretty much exhausted from the heat so we all just hung out that night, watched the race (go Edwards) and of course played with little Bella! It was great to spend time with Josh's family and to get to see Samantha also. Here are some pics! Hope everyone had a great weekend. Get excited about TN football this weekend!!! YAY!!!!

Take my Son
Take my Son
A wealthy man and his son loved to collect rare works of art. They had everything in their collection, from Picasso to Raphael. They would often sit together and admire the great works of art.
When the Vietnam conflict broke out, the son went to war. He was very courageous and died in battle while rescuing another soldier. The father was notified and grieved deeply for his only son.
About a month later, just before Christmas, there was a knock at the door. A young man stood at the door with a large package in his hands.
He said, 'Sir, you don't know me, but I am the soldier for whom your son gave his life. He saved many lives that day, and he was carrying me to safety when a bullet struck him in the heart and he died instantly. He often talked about you, and your love for art.' The young man held out this package. 'I know this isn't much. I'm not really a great artist, but I think your son would have wanted you to have this.
The father opened the package. It was a portrait of his son, painted by the young man. He stared in awe at the way the soldier had captured the personality of his son in the painting. The father was so drawn to the eyes that his own eyes welled up with tears. He thanked the young man and offered to pay him for the picture. 'Oh, no sir, I could never repay what your son did for me. It's a gift.
The father hung the portrait over his mantle. Every time visitors came to his home he took them to see the portrait of his son before he showed them any of the other great works he had collected.
The man died a few months later. There was to be a great auction of his paintings... Many influential people gathered, excited over seeing the great paintings and having an opportunity to purchase one for their collection.
On the platform sat the painting of the son. The auctioneer pounded his gavel. 'We will start the bidding with this picture of the son. Who will bid for this picture?
There was silence.
Then a voice in the back of the room shouted, 'We want to see the famous paintings. Skip this one.
But the auctioneer persisted. 'Will somebody bid for this painting. Who will start the bidding? $100, $200?
Another voice angrily. 'We didn't come to see this painting. We came to see the Van Goghs, the Rembrandts. Get on with the real bids!
But still the auctioneer continued. 'The son! The son! Who'll take the son?
Finally, a voice came from the very back of the room. It was the longtime gardener of the man and his son. 'I'll give $10 for the painting.' Being a poor man, it was all he could afford.
'We have $10, who will bid $20?
'Give it to him for $10. Let's see the masters.
'$10 is the bid, won't someone bid $20?
The crowd was becoming angry. They didn't want the picture of the son.
They wanted the more worthy investments for their collections.
The auctioneer pounded the gavel. 'Going once, twice, SOLD for $10!
A man sitting on the second row shouted, 'Now let's get on with the collection!
The auctioneer laid down his gavel. 'I'm sorry, the auction is over.
'What about the paintings?
I am sorry. When I was called to conduct this auction, I was told of a secret stipulation in the will. I was not allowed to reveal that stipulation until this time. Only the painting of the son would be auctioned Whoever bought that painting would inherit the entire estate, including the paintings. The man who took the son gets everything!
God gave His son 2,000 years ago to die on the cross. Much like the auctioneer, His message today is: 'The son, the son, who'll take the son?
Because, you see, whoever takes the Son gets everything.
FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, WHO SO EVER BELIEVETH, SHALL HAVE ETERNAL LIFE...THAT'S LOVE
Poor Dozer
Finally asleep when I left him (notice all the towels)
Well now it's Dozer's turn. He unfortunately has an uncanny ability to chew up and eat just about any toy we give me. It's hard not to give him toys because he loves them so much. We try to be very careful and watch him while he chews on them but apparently from time to time he still swallows very large pieces. This morning he woke up and threw up 2 times, one being a large head off of one of his toys. He is so sad when he is like this, just mopes around, moans and grunts, won't eat. I hate it! I got to come into work a little late so I made him some chicken and rice which he finally ate but threw right back up. Anyways, I wanted to share these pitiful pictures.

Poor Josh
The other night Josh made a very wise decision to play with Dozer outside with no shoes on. This was a mistake because he ended up tripping over a wooden stake and gashing his foot. He is alright of course and it didn't even need to be stitched up but it was a pretty bad cut and he looks cute walking with a limp. Here is a lovely picture of the battle wound. Lesson to be learned...wear shoes when playing outside!!

Hilton Head Vacation
We just got back from Hilton Head last night and I already miss the beach. We had a wonderful time just relaxing, laying out in the sun, eating good food, etc. We didn't do a whole lot but that is the point, right? The weather was nice, of course hot, but there was a breeze out on the beach so that really helped. Jason didn't get to go because of his new job and we really missed him! Instead he got to babysit Dozer for me on the weekend, thank you Jason! Anyways I have created a slide show so you can see all the pics (you don't have to have a password just click view pictures). I hope you enjoy Josh and I goofing around acting like kids again! Two vacations down two more to go!!

Weekend with Mom
This weekend my Mom came to Atlanta for some Mother-Daughter quality time. Friday night we went to the Braves game and they lost big time but we still had a good time. Saturday we went and had facials and went shopping for tax-free weekend, then Saturday night I took her to Maggiano's for a great Italian dinner. Josh was sweet enough to make us molten chocolate cakes when we got home and they were great! I had a wonderful time Mom, thank you for making the trip to see us! I love you!

Last day of Boot Camp
Well this morning was my last boot camp for the moment. For some reason I was the only one to show up at the early morning session, this felt very strange, almost like I had a personal trainer. Well I really like group sessions better, I feel like he pushed me harder today since I was by myself and it was the last day! Even though I can't stand getting up that early I really enjoyed doing it. I feel better about myself, learned new things, and met some new people. I just have to keep my momentum and continue to workout without the guidance of someone, but that is not very easy! I can do a lot more and last a lot longer when I have someone pushing me to do it. Can you imagine if I just went home after work and started sprints up a hill all by myself, I can't! Well anyways, have a great weekend! I know I will, my Mom is coming to town!!!

Cuddle Bear
I just had to post this picture!! I bought this gingerbread man for Dozer after Christmas because it was on sale for $2 and he destroys all plush animals so I don't like to spend a lot of money on them. For whatever reason he loves this one and never chews on it or slings it to death before ripping out all the stuffing. Since I first gave it to him he only uses it to sleep and cuddle with. What a great $2 purchase, especially since it gives me the opportunity to take pictures like this!
