Christmas with Granny

On Saturday we went to Rockwood to spend time with my Dad's mom. We all ate at Cracker Barrel and then went back to her house for a game of Dirty Santa, desserts and just hanging out. It's always great to get together at Granny's. We have been doing this every single year since I was born. This year however my aunt, uncle and 2 cousins weren't able to make it and I was pretty sad about that. I know we are all getting older and it's so hard to make stuff like this happen with everyone's hectic schedules but that doesn't make it any easier. Anyways here are some pics from our night in Rockwood.

1st stop

Friday night on the way home Josh, Dozer and I stopped in Englewood to celebrate with some of Josh's mom's side of the family. We had a baked spaghetti dinner and watched the kids open up Christmas gifts. Josh and I of course were late getting there because we were coming from Atlanta traffic so the kids were begging us to hurry and eat so they could open their presents. It was really cute. Here are some pics.

Merry Christmas

I wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. I hope it is filled with peace, love and joy. As always we get so busy and wrapped up with gifts that we do forget the real meaning of Christmas, so I pray that everyone takes a minute to reflect what this time of year is really about. I hope everyone has safe travels and great fellowship with family and friends. Merry Christmas my blogging friends!!

Ice Skating

I'm so glad it finally got cold enough to go ice skating. Last night Josh and I went to Centennial Olympic Park to their outdoor skating rink. I forgot how hard it was. Although we never fell (even though Josh was really wanting me to) it wasn't the most graceful thing I have ever done. As you can see in the pictures the ice wasn't very smooth and that didn't make it much easier. We had fun listening to Christmas music and being run over by the teenagers trying to show off. Thank you for taking me Josh, you know I love festive stuff like that.

Big Tree

I don't have any decorations in my office and people have asked me why. Well this is the view from my window. It stays lit all day and all I have to do is turn my back and see this beautiful tree. So that is why I don't have any decorations in my office. I don't need them! It's not the best picture but hopefully you can tell how big it is, it changes colors all throughout the day. Merry Christmas everyone, hope your having a great pre-holiday!

Bath time for Dozer

I always think Dozer looks so cute at bath time so I had Mom take pictures this weekend. He really needed a bath from his stay at the doggy hospital. I woke him up from his nap to get a bath so he was really sleep and fell asleep in my hand. Mom tried to get a picture but he opened his eyes when he heard her. Isn't he cute?!

Mom visits ATL for some last minute shopping

And boy did we shop. I had so much fun with my mom this weekend. We both took Friday off of work so she arrived Thursday night. We got to the mall at about 10:00 on Friday, left around 4, it took us 2 hours to get home because of rush hour in Atlanta and with it being the holidays. We did a few things and played with Dozer then left again at 7:30 for a different mall and shopped till about 10. I have been so busy that I hadn't even started Christmas shopping. I usually have most gifts by now. Anyways we were really tired Friday and didn't eat dinner until 11:00. On Saturday we got manicures and made some wassail and peach cobbler then went to do a little more shopping at Atlantic Station and to dinner. We had lots of fun and got most of our shopping done. Thanks for coming down Mom, and thank you for everything else, cleaning...etc.! I love you!

CFA IT Christmas Party

Thursday night was CFA's IT Christmas Party at the New World Of Coke. We got to tour the place for a little while then had a very nice dinner. There were about 200 people there and everyone was all dressed up. Of course it was beautiful and we had a great time but I didn't get any pics of Josh and I for some reason so here are 2 I took.

Dog Health 101

Well I promise we are good parents but by the looks of this bag one might not agree. I guess we just have to be more careful about what is lying around. This is a picture of the bag that contains everything that came out of Dozer's stomach. It looks like more than it really is because the ball is in 3 different pieces but there were 2 other pieces of toys in there we didn't know about and honestly don't recognize. Who knows where and when he ate those. He seems to be feeling fine, just a little heartburn that the Dr said was normal. If you take anything away from this post and you have a pet just remember to be very careful about what is lying around that they could swallow. You just never know...

Pray for Dozer

**UPDATE**
Dozer went in for endoscopic foreign body retrieval this afternoon and after two hours, the doctor was able to remove three different pieces of a soccer ball. He will be spending the night with the doctor and hopefully we can pick him up tomorrow afternoon. Praise God and thanks to everyone for your thoughts and prayers. Please do not send toys as get well gifts :(

Please say a prayer for Dozer. He swallowed a toy about a month ago and still hasn't passed it. We started to get worried when he tried vomiting the other morning but nothing happened. Josh took him to the vet today and he is going to have a scope at some point today to pull it out. If that doesn't work then he will have to have surgery. Either way he will be put to sleep and this makes me really anxious. Please pray that the Dr. we were referred to is credible and that we have a healthy puppy in the end. I will keep you posted. Poor Dozer!!!!

Day at the park in December?

Yep that's right! Yesterday Josh and I took Dozer to the park since it was so nice outside. I really enjoyed being outside and people watching but I must say it just didn't feel right. I mean shouldn't we be ice skating or at least be bundled up with scaves and gloves at the park? It was a little strange but we had fun and I got lots of great shots of Dozer. He is so silly! I kept catching him when he was licking. Josh is also teaching him to high five which is just so sweet. Here are some pics from our day at the park with 70 degree weather in December. Lacy, I guess you are used to this?

Me and Kay

The owner of my company has our Christmas Party at her house every year. She always has it decorated so beautifully and the food is always delicious. This year her and her husband made beef tenderloin that was so yummy. The employees always bring apps and desserts. Well this year I wanted to bring Robin's yummy Chess Squares. This was the first time I had ever made them so it was a little risky and they didn't turn out. They tasted great but the consistency was not servable so I resorted to a pumpkin bread I had already made. I was a little disappointed but when I got home that evening they looked and tasted perfect! I guess I should have done them the night before or earlier in the day so they could sit longer. I was like great, now I am stuck with an entire dish of chess squares. Well they are currently in the break room and being enjoyed by my co-workers so I'm happy that they didn't go to waste or I didn't eat all of then. We had a great time at the party. This year we did funny awards for all the employees with gag gifts and that went over very well. We all bring Kay an ornament for her tree and we got $100 as employees. It was a fun night to hang out with co-workers away from work and to celebrate Christmas together. Enjoy the pics!

Dad and Robin Visit

At Dinner, notice Dad's ear piece that never leaves his ear!

A little dark but at Atlantic Station

Josh being artsy at New World of Coke

Dad and Robin came to Atlanta on Friday evening and it was great to spend one on one time with them. We went to eat at a nice restaurant for dinner and to Atlantic Station to see the Christmas lights. On Saturday we went to the New World of Coke and had a great time there. If you like that sort of thing I would recommend going. The best part is tasting Coke products from 64 countries. Let's just say I won't be drinking many Cokes if I travel out of the country. Robin, maybe I'll bring some "Beverly" to our Christmas get together!! :) After Coke we went to Lenox mall with every other Holiday shopper in Atlanta and I had to leave from there for my company Christmas party. Thank you all for coming to visit with us in Atlanta. We really enjoyed the time together and look forward to the next trip.

SEC Weekend

This weekend we had lots of friends and Jason and Merdith come in town for the game. We had such a good time and somehow got tickets for all of us pretty easily. We would have like a better outcome of course but it was still fun and worth the time and money. Here are a few pics.
