A Big First

**Update-Jason had a great first day. He said everyone was really nice and they seem to have a very structured orientation process. His benefits sound amazing and he learned some neat facts about the company that really interested him. He trains for the rest of this week (forklifts today-he was excited) and then next week he'll start on the line. He is looking forward to everything and is very excited. He has to be there at 7 this week so he's been up around 5:30...luckily that will change! Lacy, I will keep you posted!

Today is Jason's first day of work at his new job. I was so excited for him that I made him take this picture for you all. This is him on his way out this morning. I can't believe my little brother is a "working man". I am also excited to have him as a roommate again, we are going to have some fun times!!!

Many Thanks!

I just have to begin this post by thanking everyone for their help this weekend. As I mentioned this is an older home and lets just say that it wasn't "move-in" ready. A big thank you to Josh, Mom, Bev, Bob, Jason and Meredith. Between the 7 of us we cleaned, repaired, installed, hauled, raked, moved, lifted, drilled, scrubbed, painted, etc., ect....

It seemed as if nothing could go right and we just kept hitting walls (literally). Oh and did I mention that we didn't have air conditioning the whole time??? That's right, just a bunch of fans and open windows. We were really lucky with the weather this weekend though.

What surprises me the most is that despite all of this we managed to keep our spirits high and push through while still having fun.

It was a lot of work but a really great weekend and I couldn't have done it without each person. Thank you all for putting forth so much effort to make this happen.

We still have some work to do so pictures aren't an option right now. I did include a picture of the outside of the house. This is the before picture so you will have to wait and see what we've done with the place. Josh's mom loves to work in flower beds so she was a tremendous help out there. Oh and if you need blinds hung Jason and Meredith are the people to call ;)

Thank you all SO much, I owe each of you BIG time!

Family Vacay in Sandestin

Our condo
Mom and I at Maguires-Jason's suggestion and seriously the best ribs EVER!
Being silly

Out by the pool
Jason and Mer at Maguires
All of us on our last night at The Back Porch-Josh couldn't get off work to come with us and we missed him :(
Just got back this weekend from a wonderful vacation with my mom, brother and Meredith. We did pretty much what your supposed to do on vacation. Lounge by the beach/pool each day, eat seafood at night and just RELAX! It was much needed for all of us and we had such a great time. I hate how a work week goes by so slow but a vacation flies by...it's just not fair.
This is a busy week for all of us. Jason moves to Atlanta on Thursday and with that comes my move to the house. We will be moving all weekend so please be thinking about us...it's going to be hectic but also very exciting!
Hopefully we will be settled enough by the end of the weekend that I can take some pictures for you.

Girls weekend in Vegas!

I got another free offer to stay in Vegas and my girlfriend Samantha really wanted to go before her wedding in August so that's what we did. My friend Brie from Atlanta and one of mine and Samantha's sorority sisters, Calle, went. My friend Morgan is also still living out there for her internship so we got to spend a lot of time with her too! It was an amazing weekend, we all had so much fun and safe travels.

Brie and I arrived in Vegas pretty early on Friday before the other girls got there so we spent some time sightseeing at Ceasars and Bellagio. This is us in the gardens at the Bellagio
Dinner on Friday night at a beautiful resturant at the Wynn. That is a 90ft waterfall behind us and they do a water show througout dinner.
We rented a Pavillion Bed on Saturday out by the pool, it was amazing with a little shade (which helped since it was over 100 degrees), free water and fruit!
This is us out by the pool
We went to Blue Man Gruop on Saturday night. Hmmm, it was very interesting and not at all like what I thought it would be like. It was fun but very different.

Josh is in Chicago this week so please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. It is a great training opportunity for him and he is going to be learning some really incredible things and he is pretty excited about it. I sure am going to miss him though and can't wait to see him on Friday. It was so strange to me that we were flying in total opposite directions last night at the same time and I was sad to not see him when I got home!

Have a great week everyone!

New Find

So I just saw these in the store the other day and I've always preferred Smart Ones over other frozen brands. Well I am a huge breakfast person and I'm also a sleep till the very last second person so I'm always looking for easy ways to make breakfast once I get to work. I've actually been scrambling eggs in a coffee mug...hehe! Anyways, I grabbed both of these and to my surprise they are actually really yummy and so easy to just grab on my way out the door and heat up when I get to work. I would recommend them and just thought I would share.

New House

So...a lot has been going on lately! The big news is that the pictures below are of my new house. It's a rental in a beautiful neighborhood right in midtown. It was built in 1918, has so much character and is in decent shape for it's age. Some of my favorite features are the 10ft ceilings, the butlers pantry, the NEW kitchen and the hardwoods that are in great shape...oh and don't forget the big front porch. I am SO excited to get everything moved in!!

My wonderful mother came into town this weekend to help me look for some things I need. I don't have any pictures because all we did was shop, shop, shop. It was so much fun though and I got a lot accomplished.

I will be moving in at the end of August but in the meantime I am going to Vegas again (I promise I don't have a problem), having my best friends from home come and stay, going to the beach with my mom, Jason and Meredith, and getting ready for Samantha's wedding. Needless to say it's going to be a very busy month but so much fun!

Sometimes it can be overwhelming and a little stressful but I have to remind myself to be so thankful for everything I have and just to take it one day at a time!

Huge dining room
Living room
Kitchen...I just love all the windows
Master bedroom

Stayed tuned for Vegas pictures...it's a girls weekend this time!

Me and some of the wives

This weekend Josh and I attended our first Catholic wedding. It was an interesting ceremony that I'm glad I got to see. The reception was held at a beautiful hotel in Atlanta and we had a great time. Josh works with Robert and they have become good friends in the past 3 years.

Too Good to be True

Well it turns out that we were given some misleading information and we will no longer be adopting Tonka. We are very sad about it but still want everyone to pray for him and that he finds a loving home.

UPDATE: One of our long time family friends sister is going to adopt Tonka. They love English Bulldogs and even say that he looks like their first one so they are so excited. I think everything has worked out for the best.

Introducing Tonka!!!

Well this time next weekend Josh and I will be welcoming a new english bulldog into our home. Josh's family called this week to ask if we wanted to adopt a bulldog , they knew someone who was giving him away. His family worked a lot and traveled with their kids ball team so they just didn't have the time to give him and bulldogs do require lots of attention. Well this is exactly what happened when we got Dozer and he has been such an amazing blessing in our lives so we just felt like we couldn't pass this opportunity up. We are really excited to see how Dozer and Tonka take to each other. Our hope of course is that they become best friends and we are anxiously awaiting the moment when we all get to meet. Please pray for this transition in our lives. It will require more time, money, responsibility, cleaning, patients, etc., but if you've ever had an english bulldog then you know it's all worth it!!!

Welcome to our family Tonka, we are so excited to be your new parents!!!
